Overview
In this study, we investigate the ultrafast dynamics of spin transport and magnetization in spintronic devices, emphasizing the potential for manipulating magnetization on femtosecond timescales. We utilize magneto-optical experiments to probe the time evolution of spin accumulation in a magnetic multilayer following ultrafast laser excitation. Our findings reveal that the final magnetic state of the free layer in a spin-valve is primarily influenced by the ultrafast dynamics of the reference layer’s magnetization.
Additionally, we clarify the interplay between magnetization and spin transport dynamics within the multilayer stack, identifying demagnetization and remagnetization-driven spin accumulation as critical mechanisms for all-optical switching. These insights pave the way for new design principles in ultrafast spintronic devices, focusing on engineered spin currents to enhance performance and functionality.
